This is Maverick. He's a boxer and a big ole sweetie!!!! He's such a cool dog. He does have a lump on his left hind quarter. It seems to be giving him a bit of trouble.

Maverick has on a blue collar. He was hanging around the Eastland schools. He's a bit malnurished.

Maverick will be available either Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. Please don't wait until the last minute. He is such a friendly, dingy dog!!

If you're interested in adopting or fostering him, please contact ACO at 254.629.1700 or the slobber sponge at 254.653.7607.

Oh and the lump in his hind quaters is more then likely just a fatty deposite... Boxers get those allot...

Unfortunately Euthanization may be his only option....with as many dogs at large on our streets that need to be picked up RIGHT now we cannot treat him any different than the mutt next door...thats just being honest with you...its a hard choice and my job although I love it the euthanization part I HATE...but it is a necessary evil so to speak. If only people would be more responsible with their pets, spay/neuter...and even simple things like rabies vaccines and they get a tag....but they dont and they just leave their dirty work to ACO's everywhere....This boxer is very friendly and he is a good boy...I hope that someone claims or adopts him before Wednesday of next week.

Isn't there a boxer rescue group somewhere around that may be willing to adopt him?

There is Lone Star Boxer Rescue in Houston that might take him and three or four others I can't think of off the top of my head

Wags and Whiskers will provide a kennel, doghouse and feed if someone will just open up their heart and be a foster family.

The next adoptathon is September 13th - if he could just have a home until then.

You are very welcome. Maverick is chewing on a large ham bone I gave him. He is so sweet and just for of love. He is a very good guard dog he let me know immediatly that someone was at my house. Now I have 8 dogs of my own and baby sitting two more for someone else and he beat them.lol!
I put him in a small wading pool to cool off in. I know you said he didnt like the water hose. But he soon figured out what the water pool was all about and seems to like it. Diane he is to big for the dog house you left for him. So, For the time being I put one of my unused igloos in there for him.
