My mom really needs everyone's prayers. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003. She had a lumpectomy, went through chemo and radiation with flying colors, no side effects and 6 months after finishing treatment the doctor couldn't find any traces of cancer.
Well, about a month ago my mom notices some small knots near the surface on the same breast they found cancer in before and within this same time she hurt her arm playing golf and was seeing the chiropractor for treatment, but it wasn't helping. Then her arm started swelling and hurting VERY much. After going to ER with great pain they found a blood clot in her arm.
They did a biopsy last week and took a couple of those tiny lumps.
Diagnosis.....they're cancerous, but the doctor feels they can easily be shrunken away because they are very small and very close to the surface of the skin. They started chemo Friday and she is also taking blood thinners to get rid of the blood clot which is very dangerous. We all feel my mom can beat this just like last time, but emotionally my mom is having a very hard time. It doesn't help that the blood thinners and pain medication she's having to take are wearing her down physically and emotionally. She knows God healed her last time and he can do it again, but doesn't understand why it has happened again. She doesn't know if she can be strong enough to win another battle. She hasn't lost faith in God, just in herself. So please pray for her to have strength through God and Peace of Mind that this battle is already won as long as we put it in God's hands.

Thanks for all the prayers guys/gals! But, to update everyone my mom has a few more problems. The first diagnosis was the blood clot in one arm and new cancer cells. Well, this weekend she developed sores in her mouth and throat. The doctor said it was kind of like having shingles only in the mouth and throat.(very painful) she is having a hard time talking and eating. And....today they found out that she has a slight case of pneumonia in one lung. So.....they've got her on antibiotics for the sores and pneumonia, blood thinners for the blood clot, amino acids I.V., Lipids I.V., has to have shots after chemo to bring her white blood count up because she has a very low blood count to begin with and these shots cause her bones to hurt very badly so she has to have pain medicine along with the shots. When it rains it pours and right now it's pouring. Please remember my mom and our family.....

Breast Cancer has been the #1 killer of the women in my family. Except in our family, the cancer is so bad that ir moves from the breast to the bones ( which most know that there is no cure for bone cancer) I know how hard it is to watch your loved ones suffer through cancer and I will be praying for not only your mother but for your strength as well.

God never gives us more than we can bare....and I pray that he will take some of that load off of your mother and the rest of your family right now. I pray for healing and health and for all of you to have strength through this trying time.

Scooby, I have been where your mom is now, when it rains it pours, and you wonder which part of your body is going to fail next, and how few more meds you will have to buy before you own the entire store. My prayers are for all of you.

Scooby, your mom and all of your family are in my prayers. I don't even know who she is but right now, I'd just love to give her a hug!!! I'm so very sorry that she's going through all of this now and I'll pray that God gives her the strength that she doesn't feel that she has now.

Y'all hang in there and give her a hug for me. Breaks my heart to see someone go through something so difficult. I just know that sometime soon, you will come back on this thread and report much better news!!! Positive thinking is the only way to go in my mind. I'll pray and look forward to hearing that your mom is doing much, much better.

Take care,

CG

Sorry it took awhile for an update. Things went to heck this weekend and we thought we were going to lose mom for a little while. I won't go into details, but her condition worsened and the weekend staff along with the night shift at the hospital needed to all be fired for negligence and not caring for my mother's physical or emotional state. But, here's the good news. After her doctor came back and took back over Monday, he straightened things out and she started doing so much better that she came home today. She still has a long while to recover, but at least she's home. The sores in her mouth are almost gone, the lung doctor said her pneumonia is almost totally gone, her liver test showed great improvement(that's one thing that worsened over the weekend.)She will have a nurse come to her house 3 times a week for awhile and I will be taking care of her because she is still too weak to sit up or get to the restroom on her own. So let's just keep the prayers going for a speedy recovery, all of your prayers have gotten us this far, thanks so much!!!

Oh, I am so sorry to hear the first part of you post--but I am so glad that her doctor got there in time to get her healing again & she is home now. That is good to hear.

This is a long ole road that she has traveled before--was a survivor & she will be again.

Knowing that God has her in His Hands--we are all praying for a healing & quick recovery.

I know it's been awhile, but I've been busy. My mom is doing much better!! Her whole attitude is better she's not feeling sorry for herself anymore and has an optimistic attitude, her mouth and throat have almost healed and she can actually taste some things now and she can eat some regular food without it hurting. The pneumonia is gone in her lungs, she needs a little help getting up and down, but can walk a little ways by herself. She doesn't have much energy yet, but we're working on that the more she is able to eat. The arm that has the blood clot is still not working very well. She has a physical therapist coming twice a week working with her, but it will take several months to get full use again. Until then I've got to teach her how to write with her left hand. Which is fine with me since I'm the only left handed one in our family and she taught me how to write when I was a kid. The cancer she has is hormone dependent so she doesn't have to take chemotherapy. She is taking some kind of hormone pills and the doctor said they will discuss radiation in the future. Thank you all for the prayers! Mom is not out of the dark yet, but she is definitely on her way. Thank you to all friends, family, and God's family. Keep the prayers going!

UPDATE: Doctor took the pick line out of mom's arm, blood test results are coming up like they should, the cancer tumors are shrinking at a good rate, and my mom's spirits are still doing pretty good. Her arm with the blood clot is still hurting her alot, especially after therapy, but we're continuing to pray. I just wanted to let everyone know about her progress.

Thank you for the update--at least the tumors are shrinking--that has to be a good sign.

We are still praying for a healing & recovery but we will also pray to lesson her pain.

Keep being positive & I know she will win this battle again.
