Please pray for my mom and dad. Mom has ahlzeimers and is having physical complications and my dad is trying to tend to her needs. They have been married for 63 years and he will not consider putting her in a nursing home even with the children's help he is overwhelmed and stressed to the limit.

My Aunt took care of my Uncle to the end of Ahlzeimers my CZs helped when they were not at work it is as you say overwhelming .

Talk to your Dad and get out side help to come in and give all of you a break ,
If it is only a few Hrs a day .God Bless your Family.

Gate, I know your Dad is close to Superman with all the love he uses in being caregiver for that precious wife suffering from medical problems along with her Alzheimers. God must have been holding his hand for a long while. He has a task that is monumental in caring for that precious Lady and does fulfill his duties amazingly. I understand his determination and unwilling decision to give up her care to others , especially with 63 years together. Realistically , some times the Alzheimers care itself becomes too much for one person to safely accomplish. God's love is there for the two of them and you Children. I am sure it would be a blessing if your Dad could accept some outside assistance before he faces illness himself with such stress. You all are in our prayers and prayers are mighty.

Thank you so much for showing your concern and your prayers. We have gotten home health for 4 hrs. a day, but it passes so quickly and there is so much left to do. The days are long and full. The golden years are not always golden. God is good and he will provide the strength and help Dad needs to be there for Mother. Thanks again for listening.

I will pray for you. My grandmother is taking care of my grandfather in much the same situation, so I know what you are going through.

Update: Mom had to be put in the nursing home after getting very sick, couldn't keep food down. Now she,s in the hospital and things are looking very bad for her. She is totally bedfast and vomits her totally liquid diet up everyday. I love her very much but, heaven will be a much better place for her than this. I will accept what GOD,s plan is.

Gate,

Pianoman and I know exactly how you feel. His mom has Alztimers too and his dad has been caring for her for several years now on his own. We check on them as often as possible and try to help him take care of her. But it is very hard. Pm's dad is 81 and his mom is 72. It is very hard to know what to do to help. We do a lot of praying.

Good luck and keep your faith, because that is what is going to help you through this the most.

God Bless and I will be sure to say a prayer for your whole family, because it is hard on everyone.
